Summary:

VIDE is with CCCbv and DMN, Design Management Network in the Netherlands, one of the organisers of the international Creative Company Conference 2008. This conference about the creative company will take place on the 1st of April in Amsterdam. We believe that making money from ideas is the key to the creative economy and the future of business in the Western world.

We are moving from the left brain -price, quality, digitized, analytical Knowledge Economy to the right brain stuff that has less to do with systems and predictability and more with creativity, imagination and innovation. Something new that is called the Creative Economy. When knowledge has become a commodity and in every corner of the world assembly lines run efficiently and against much lower cost in China, India and Hungary then in the Western world, we need a new competitive advantage. It's already there and called creativity. The Creative Company Conference is the first international business conference that brings business and creativity together in one arena, deconstructs the DNA of creative companies to understand their high-added-value business models, presents the guru's that play the game of value, innovation and creativity in business and make you understand the tools, methods and metrics. It is the place to connect, get inspired and learn lessons from business and creative thinkers and business practitioners in the creative company. http://www.creativecompanyconference.com

The evening event is included in the ticket for the main conference, but is also open for anyone who would like to register for the evening event only. The Evening Event will focus on three topics: Start running: your creative business’ next step You made a start, you can walk and maybe you already have some staff ; congratulations! Now it is time to make the next step in running your business. In this program the experiences of some high growth companies in the creative industry are shared with the audience. After this evening you have learned from your entrepreneurial colleagues, gained sources to solutions for growth in the Area and maybe even found an experienced entrepreneurial mentor. Creative Business Models How do creative professionals earn their money? That is, simply stated, the main question in this topic of the Evening Event. What are the business models behind successful creative products and services. Are their smarter ways for creative professionals to make money than just writing fees for the number of hours of work? And what smart business models have creative industries thought of from which other industries can learn? This topic is based on the findings of a research program initiated by Kennisland and the Premsela Foundation. Design 2.0 The third topic of the Evening event is design 2.0. In other words what has design thinking to offer to companies if its not just designing a logo or a product. Can designers step into a new level of consulting in which they put their design thinking in force to innovate business processes, systems and, yes, strategies instead of just making things more beautiful or functional. In this topic designers talk about their design 2.0 ambitions and projects.
